B. Carre - Professional from approx. 1971 - beautiful original condition RH59cm
I sold this great racing bike by Bernard Carre about 5 years ago. By coincidence, actually I was in a large Internet - auction house on the search for something completely different, I discovered "my" bike again. I was already then heavily in love with this racer and wanted it back immediately. Shortly in the old mails, I found the buyer of that time again. Unfortunately the circumstances forced him to sell the bike. We quickly agreed on a price and I bought the bike back. This briefly to the history of the bike.
What makes a Carre frame so special? Carre enjoyed an excellent reputation in France. It stood for know-how in frame construction and always incorporated innovations into its frames and geometries. One of the most famous riders on a frame built to measure by Carre was probably the great Jacques Anquetil, who won the Tour de France five times. Carre frames, which rarely carry a decal with his name on them, can always be easily recognized by the name engraved on the strut mirrors. This bike here is one of those made to measure frames from the early seventies. Completely original preserved! I originally bought it from the first owner near Lyon. The man has hardly ever ridden this bike. It was his "Sunday - fair weather - bike"
It was built with the best Campagnolo Nuovo Record group at the time. Great high flange hubs, Cinelli Unicanitor saddle and Cinelli Cockpit.
It could not have been more noble at that time. A perfect French top frame with the best Italian equipment.
A bike for the collection or further "fair weather rides"
