Guiseppe Limongi ist wieder einer dieser kleinen, doch eher unbekannten französischen Rahmenbauer. Ich selber habe vor einigen Jahren einmal zufällig in Frankreich einen Limongi Rahmen, der Guerciotti gelabelt war, erhalten. Diesen habe ich mir aufgebaut und fahre und liebe ihn heute noch. Die Verarbeitung und das Fahrgefühl dieser im auf Maß gefertigten Limongi Rahmen sind einfach ein Traum. Vielleicht kennen einige von euch dieses Gefühl, dass ein Rad einfach passt, es „rollt" ganz anders als ein anderes Rad mit ähnlicher Geometrie und Maßen. Dies ist schwer in Worte zu fassen.
Guiseppe Limongi ist, wie es der Name schon vermuten lässt, Italiener, der In Frankreich lebt . Er gehört zur Gilde der Rahmenbauer aus dem Großraum Paris. In seinem Atelier fertigte er unter anderem Rahmen und Rennräder für Profirennfahrer aus dem Kreis des Renault Elf Team (80iger) an. Er baute unter anderen Rahmen für Größen wie Laurent Fignon oder Bernard Hinault. In Frankreich genießt er einen exzellenten Ruf und baute alle Rahmen nach Kundenwunsch und auf Maß. Dieser Rahmen hier ist schlicht und ergreifend einfach nur ein Traum. Ich muss zugeben, dass ich persölich auf viel Chrom stehe - vollverchromte Rahmen wirken für mich sehr edel. Wenn man sich nun diesen Rahmen technisch einmal genauer betrachtet, sieht man das ganze Know – How der Rahmenbaukunst von Limongi. Gibt es einen schöneren Hinterbau, als diesen? Diese Einheit aus Sattelklemmung, Strebenanlegung ist einfach nur Kunst. Die extrem flachen Streben des extrem kurzen Hinterbaus machen das Rad nicht nur sehr agil und wenig, sie sind auch noch aerodynamisch. Auch die Zugführung im Oberrohr ist genau an der richtigen Stelle um die Reibung in der Bremszugführung möglichst gering zu halten. Der Steg der hinteren Bremse ist so grazil und passt perfekt ins Gesamtbild. Der Limongi Schriftzug auf dem Unterrohr ist nicht aufgeklebt, sondern, wahrscheinlich mit einer Schablone, von Hand "aufgemalt" worden. Wow - was für ein toller Rahmen. Die Formen der Rohre, die es hier zu bestaunen und entdecken gilt, kann man auf den Bildern nur erahnen, ich habe den Rahmen beim Polieren kennen und lieben gelernt. 

Aufgebaut muss dieses Rad natürlich auch mit der besten Gruppe der Zeit. Hier kommt die Campagnolo Super Record zum Einsatz, die von Limongi aber noch etwas bearbeitet und veredelt wurden. Die Kurbel ist beispielsweise im "Mexico" Style poliert. Die Schalthebel haben auch einiges an Gewicht verloren, der tolle Milremo Vorbau mit der Tricolore und dem Philippe Professional Lenker war sicher der Wunsch des Kunden. Ein neuwertiger Laufradsatz mit Fiamme Felgen und Record Naben mit einem Rigina Oro Kranz runden die Maschine ab. Ich bin verliebt und möchte dieses Rad eigentlich gar nicht wieder abgeben, zum Glück habe ich noch einen Limongi in der Sammlung....

Guiseppe Limongi is again one of those small, yet rather unknown French frame builders. I myself received a Limongi frame, which was labeled Guerciotti, by chance in France a few years ago. This I have built me and drive and love him still today. The workmanship and feel of this custom Limongi frame are simply a dream. Maybe some of you know this feeling that a wheel just fits, it "rolls" completely different than another wheel with similar geometry and dimensions. This is difficult to put into words.

Guiseppe Limongi is, as the name suggests, Italian who lives in France . He belongs to the guild of frame builders from the Paris area. In his workshop he made among other things frames and racing bikes for professional racers from the circle of Renault Elf Team (80s). He built among others frames for greats like Laurent Fignon or Bernard Hinault. In France he enjoys an excellent reputation and built all frames according to customer specifications and made to measure. This frame here is simply a dream. I must admit that I personally like a lot of chrome - fully chromed frames look very classy to me. If you now look at this frame technically once more closely, you see the whole know - how of the frame building art of Limongi. Is there a more beautiful rear end than this? This unit of saddle clamping, strut attachment is simply art. The extremely flat struts of the extremely short rear make the wheel not only very agile and little, they are also aerodynamic. Also, the cable routing in the top tube is exactly in the right place to keep friction in the brake cable routing as low as possible. The bar of the rear brake is so graceful and fits perfectly into the overall picture. The Limongi lettering on the downtube has not been glued on but, probably with a stencil, "painted on" by hand. Wow - what a great frame. The shapes of the tubes to marvel at and discover here can only be guessed at in the pictures, I got to know and love the frame while polishing it. Built this wheel must of course also with the best group of the time. Here, the Campagnolo Super Record is used, which Limongi but still somewhat processed and refined. For example, the crank is polished in the "Mexico" style. The shifters have also lost some weight, the great Milremo stem with the Tricolore and Philippe Professional handlebars was certainly the desire of the customer. A like new wheelset with Fiamme rims and Record hubs with a Rigina Oro rim round out the machine. I am in love and do not want to give this wheel actually again, luckily I still have a Limongi in the collection....
