Colnago Master - die Legende

Ernesto Colnago brachte 1983 den ersten Master Rahmen als neues Spitzenmodell auf den Markt.Ab ´83 würde er in fünf verschiedenen Variationen gebaut. (Master 1983, Master Più 1988, Master Olympic 1991, Master Light 1994 und Master X-Light 1998). Auch heute hat Colnago wieder einen Master aus Stahl im Programm. Der Master löste ´83 den bis dato führenden "Super" ab. Besonders bahnbrechend war der nun nicht mehr runde, sondern kantige "Gilco" Rohrsatz. Ernesto Colnago war und ist immer wieder für eigenes Design und neue Wege bekannt. Gilco ist eine Abkürzung, welche für Gilberto Colombo steht. Gilberto Colombo war ein italienischer Designer und hat Designs für Autos, Segelboote und Häuser entworfen. Zudem soll die Form des Rohres zu einer besseren Stabilität / Steifheit des Rahmens beitragen.

Dieser Master hier, aus dem Jahre 1986, also aus der ersten Generation noch mit der klassischen Zugführung über die für Colnago typischen zwei Anlötteile auf dem Oberrohr. Der Rahmen, in der eher seltenen Gelb / Weiß Farbkombination, in Verbindung mit den verchromten Muffen und der "Flügeln" in der Tretlagermuffe war damals wohl einer der begehrtesten und auch teuersten Rahmen, die man für Geld kaufen konnte. Und wer einmal einen solchen Rahmen gefahren ist, der fühlt recht schnell, wie toll das Fahrverhalten dieser nicht nur optisch wunderschönen Rahmen ist.

Aufgebaut ist das Rad mit einer kompletten Shimano Dura Ace Gruppe. Die 7400er Gruppe kam zu dieser Zeit gerade auf den Markt und ist in Sachen Funktion und Langlebigkeit wohl mit das allerbeste aus dieser Zeit. Die Gruppe ist in einem sehr schönen Erhaltungszustand, die Bremshebel haben noch die originalen Hoods drauf! Der Laufradsatz, dies zeigen die minimalen Abnutzungsspuren im Eloxal, ist wie das gesamte Rad sehr wenig gefahren worden. Toll erhaltener, komplett originaler Renner aus Mitte der Achtziger.

Ein edler Klassiker, der so auch auf jeder L´ Eroica gefahren werden kann! (mit anderen Pedalen natürlich)

Colnago Master - A true ledgend

Ernesto Colnago launched the first Master frame in 1983 as a new top model.From '83 it would be built in five different variations. The Master replaced the hitherto leading "Super" in '83. Particularly groundbreaking was the now no longer round, but angular "Gilco" tube set. Ernesto Colnago was and is always known for his own design and new ways. Gilco is an abbreviation which stands for Gilberto Colombo. Gilberto Colombo was an Italian designer and has created designs for cars, sailboats and houses. In addition, the shape of the tube is said to contribute to better stability / rigidity of the frame.

This master here, from 1986, so from the first generation still with the classic cable routing via the typical for Colnago two braze-on parts on the top tube. The frame, in the rather rare yellow / white color combination, in conjunction with the chrome-plated sleeves and the "wings" in the bottom bracket sleeve was at that time probably one of the most sought-after and also most expensive frames that money could buy. And anyone who has ever ridden such a frame, feels quite quickly how great the ride of these not only visually beautiful frames.

The bike is built with a complete Shimano Dura Ace group. The 7400 group came at that time just on the market and is in terms of function and durability probably with the very best from that time. The group is in a very nice state of preservation, the brake levers still have the original hoods on it! The wheelset, this shows the minimal wear marks in the anodizing, has been driven like the entire wheel very little. Great preserved, completely original racer from the mid-eighties.

A noble classic, which can also be driven so on any L' Eroica! (with other pedals of course)
