Cinelli, wohl eine der traditionsreichsten italienischen Marken im Radsport überhaupt! Kurz nachdem Cino Cinelli 1948 seine Rahmenbauwerkstatt in Mailand eröffnet hatte, stellte er das Modell "SC" oder "Supercorsa" vor, zeitweise auch als "Speciale Corsa" bezeichnet. Wesentliche Merkmale des Rahmens wie der Gabelkopf mit den abfallenden Schultern und die zwischen den Sitzstreben konstruierte Sattelklemmung sind seitdem ein unverändertes Merkmal des Rahmens, der nach heute in seiner ursprünglichen Bauweise erhältlich ist.

Damit ist "Supercorsa" der am längsten gebaute Rennradrahmen überhaupt.

Eine kleine Beschreibung und Geschichte zum Rahmen ist auch auf der Cinelli – Seite zu finden. Eine wesentliche Änderung erfuhr der Rahmen 1979, nachdem Cinelli von Antonio Colombo, Chef des Rohrherstellers Columbus, übernommen worden war. Colombo ließ vom weltberühmten Designer Italo Lupi ein neues Logo für Cinelli entwickeln. Seitdem ist das geflügelte "C" eines der bekanntesten Markenzeichen in der Fahrradwelt und auch Erkennungszeichen des Supercorsa. Eine wichtige technische Änderung am Rahmen war die Umstellung von gepressten Muffen auf präzisere Feingussmuffen Anfang der 1980er-Jahre. Weitere kleinere Modifikationen betrafen in den folgenden Jahren die Zugführungen und das Rahmenmaterial. Ansonsten hat sich der Rahmen in seiner Bauweise seither nicht mehr verändert. Er wird heute von einem erfahrenen Rahmenbauer in der Nähe von Mailand in 17 Größen gebaut, auch eine Bahn-Version ist lieferbar.

Das hier vorgestellte Rad ist eine absolute Besonderheit. Dieses Rad ist einer der beiden Zwillinge, die ich vom Erstbesitzer erwerben konnte. Die Räder sind 1986 bei Radsport Altmann in München in Auftrag gegeben worden. Zitat Erstbesitzer: "Meine Frau und ich hatten halt etwas Geld und wollten das Beste vom Besten". So bestellten sie sich zwei identische Cinelli Supercorsa Rahmen und ließen diese mit der gerade vorgestellten Campagnolo C-Record Gruppe aufbauen. Das C-Record Schaltwerk der 1. Generation ist für mich das schönste von Campa je gebaute Schaltwerk. Das Finish der Oberfläche ist danach leider nie wieder erreicht worden und sucht seines gleichen. Der normale Cinelli Vorbau reichte hier auch nicht, es musste schon ein ICS getunter sein, der damals unglaubliche 179DM gekostet hat. Für diese Zeit eine Wahnsinns-Summe für einen Vorbau. Beste Campagnolo Record Strada Felgen passen auch perfekt in den edlen Renner. Das Rad wurde sowohl mit Campagnolo C-Record Pedalen als auch mit den allerersten Look Klickpedalen bestellt. Nach der Abholung der Räder stellte die Frau ja sofort fest, dass das Rennradfahren gar nichts für sie ist, der Mann schaffte auf seine Maschine ganze 3 Ausfahrten und blieb dabei bei gesamten 93km stehen. "Die Räder sind zwar wunderschön, aber uns gefiel irgendwie das Trekkingrad oder gar das Auto dann doch besser" - so die Aussage des Erstbesitzers.

Der Wahnsinn, ein Cinelli Supercorsa mit der seltenen ersten Generation der C-Record im Bestzustand. Minimale Bremsspuren sind an der hinteren Felge zu erkennen, sonst ist es ebenso perfekt wie das kleinere Rad.

Cinelli, probably one of the most traditional Italian brands in cycling at all! Shortly after Cino Cinelli opened his frame-building workshop in Milan in 1948, he introduced the "SC" or "Supercorsa" model, at times also known as the "Speciale Corsa". Essential features of the frame such as the fork head with the sloping shoulders and the saddle clamp constructed between the seat stays have been an unchanged feature of the frame ever since, which is still available in its original design today.

This makes "Supercorsa" the longest built road bike frame ever.

A short description and history of the frame can also be found on the Cinelli page. The frame underwent a major change in 1979, after Cinelli was taken over by Antonio Colombo, head of the Columbus tube manufacturer. Colombo had the world-famous designer Italo Lupi develop a new logo for Cinelli. Since then, the winged "C" has been one of the best-known trademarks in the bicycle world and also the identifying mark of the Supercorsa. An important technical change to the frame was the switch from pressed sockets to more precise investment cast sockets in the early 1980s. Other minor modifications in the following years concerned the cable guides and the frame material. Otherwise, the frame's construction has not changed since then. Today it is built by an experienced frame builder near Milan in 17 sizes, and a track version is also available.

The bike presented here is an absolute speciality. This bike is one of the two twins I was able to acquire from the first owner. The bikes were commissioned from Radsport Altmann in Munich in 1986. Quote first owner: "My wife and I just had some money and wanted the best of the best". So they ordered two identical Cinelli Supercorsa frames and had them built up with the Campagnolo C-Record groupset that had just been introduced. The 1st generation C-Record rear derailleur is, for me, the most beautiful rear derailleur ever built by Campa. The finish of the surface has unfortunately never been achieved again and is second to none. The normal Cinelli stem wasn't enough here either, it had to be an ICS tuned one, which cost an incredible 179DM at the time. An insane sum for a stem at that time. The best Campagnolo Record Strada rims also fit the noble racer perfectly. The bike was ordered with both Campagnolo C-Record pedals and the very first Look clipless pedals. After picking up the bikes, the wife immediately realised that road cycling is not for her at all, the husband managed a whole 3 rides on his bike and stopped at a total of 93km. "The bikes are beautiful, but somehow we liked the trekking bike or even the car better" - that's what the first owner said.

The madness, a Cinelli Supercorsa with the rare first generation C-Record in top condition. Minimal brake marks can be seen on the rear rim, otherwise it is just as perfect as the smaller bike.
